Daegu Hanbang University announced Monday that students from its College of Future Life Convergence's Department of Medi-Food HMR Industry swept a national cocktail competition held as part of the 2026 Daegu International Liquor & Cocktail Show, with every participant taking home an award.

Nine adult learners from the department competed at the event, held recently at EXCO in Daegu, entering both the K-Traditional Liquor Cocktail Competition and the Global Whisky-Based Creative Cocktail Competition. The students claimed honors across multiple categories, including the grand prize in the open division.

In the K-Traditional Liquor Cocktail Competition, student Lee Seon-hyeon won the grand prize in the open division, while Lee Mi-hyang took the gold award, Ko Jang-mi the silver, and Shin Jeong-hwa and Oh Jae-ho each received the Bartending Skills Award.

In the Global Whisky-Based Creative Cocktail Competition, Kim Su-jeong claimed the grand prize, Jeong Mi-suk and Jo Seo-hyeon shared the gold award, and Jeong In-sun received the bronze.

Department chair Lee Hee-su said the results were deeply meaningful. "The students achieved remarkable results at a national competition through relentless effort and passion," Lee said. "We will continue to actively support them in building expertise and competitiveness through hands-on education and a wide range of practical training programs."
