Nowon-gu District Mayor Seo Jun-o has been actively engaging with district civil servants since taking office.
The outreach puts into practice a pledge Seo made on his first day in office, when he told staff at a morning assembly to "communicate with residents from their perspective and bring your own creativity to the work, grounded in the civil servant's core values of integrity and diligence" — and declared that he himself would stay in close communication with employees.
Ahead of his inauguration ceremony on Friday, Seo shared a meal with officers of the Nowon-gu Civil Servants' Labor Union at the district office cafeteria, then moved to his office to discuss working conditions with staff.
On Monday, Seo visited each department of the district office in turn, greeting employees and offering words of encouragement.
The visits were kept low-key and unhurried, with no formal ceremonies or department-level events.
"Communication and mutual understanding are essential if the district mayor and civil servants are to work as one team for Nowon's future as an economic city," Seo said. "I will make a sincere, ongoing effort to communicate — not just as a one-time event — with everyone from senior officials down to the most junior frontline staff."
