The Overseas Construction Association will hold the fourth K-City Platform briefing at its education center on Tuesday, it announced Monday.

The event is designed to share the latest developments in urban development and smart city projects under way in Central Asia — including Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan — and Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, while exploring ways for domestic construction and engineering firms to collaborate with companies in convergence industries.

More than 100 domestic companies spanning construction and engineering, culture and the arts, and information technology and manufacturing are expected to attend. Presentations will cover four topics: strategic use of the K-City network with a focus on Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan; the Alatau City project in Kazakhstan as a future smart city for Central Asia; Uzbekistan project cases centered on the BFC development; and the K-City Dalat resort development project in Vietnam and its joint-entry opportunities. Specific business cases and cooperation prospects for each market will also be introduced.

Unlike previous briefings that focused on broad market and project overviews, this session stands apart by sharing the current status of actively progressing projects and discussing concrete ways for Korean companies to participate and collaborate. Following the presentations, attendees will discuss project details through a question-and-answer session and networking, with a view to exploring follow-up cooperation among interested companies.

"We hope this briefing will give participating companies a deeper understanding of market demand and help them identify practical cooperation opportunities," an association official said. "We will continue to strengthen ties between public institutions and private companies so that the K-City platform can serve as a genuine foundation for Korean firms expanding overseas."

Since last year, the association has used the K-City Platform briefing series to share information on major overseas urban development and smart city projects in markets including Vietnam and Kuwait. It plans to continue holding briefings and networking events targeting key emerging markets and strategic countries to support Korean companies' entry into overseas urban development and convergence projects.
