Korea Credit Data Co. (Kodata) is looking to uncover new business ideas that harness AI and corporate data. The company plans to solicit business analysis concepts built around corporate datasets, with the aim of broadening data use and identifying fresh commercial opportunities.

Kodata announced Monday that it will co-host an "AI and Data Utilization Idea Contest" with the Big Data Analysis and AI Society (B.D.A.I), an affiliate of the Korean Society for Big Data. The contest theme is "business insight analysis ideas using corporate data."

Participants must submit a proposal outlining the data they plan to use and their analytical methodology. Kodata offered sample topics to guide applicants — identifying high-growth companies using patent and investment information, and analyzing startup location suitability using industry classification, business closure and real estate data.

Participants who use data provided by Kodata must conduct their analysis at KO-DLab, the company's first-floor data analysis room at its headquarters, to ensure data security. The facility will offer access to a wide range of datasets, including corporate business status, financial statements, credit information, officially assessed real estate values and value-added tax records. Kodata is a leading domestic corporate data specialist that provides credit ratings and business information, and holds an extensive repository of corporate datasets.

Anyone with an interest in AI and data analysis may enter, either individually or in teams of up to four. Applications are open from Monday through July 17 via the B.D.A.I website or a QR code on the contest poster.

Judging will proceed in two rounds — a preliminary and a final. The preliminary round will evaluate submitted proposals through the end of this month to select finalists, while the final round, running from Aug. 3 to Aug. 21, will require participants to present their data analysis results. Final results will be announced at the end of August. The grand prize winner will receive 1 million won ($649), while the top excellence and excellence award recipients will receive 500,000 won and 300,000 won, respectively, along with certificates.

Further details about the contest are available on the Kodata and B.D.A.I websites.
