CJ Olive Young announced Sunday it has opened a 1,702-square-meter urban fulfillment center called MFC Jeju in Aewol-eup, Jeju Island, expanding the coverage of its same-day delivery service, Oneul Dream. One pyeong equals 3.3 square meters, making the facility roughly 515 pyeong.

The new facility allows 90 percent of online orders placed within the region to be fulfilled through Oneul Dream. With on-site inventory storage now available, the number of products handled has grown to 11,000 items.

The move is expected to ease the time and cost burden on Jeju residents. Standard delivery to Jeju had previously taken an average of more than three days, with an additional 2,500-won surcharge for remote-island delivery applied regardless of order size. Customers who place Oneul Dream orders before 4 p.m. will now receive their products before midnight the same day, with no remote-area surcharge.

CJ Olive Young made the investment to provide the same shopping convenience nationwide. Oneul Dream, which the company introduced in 2018 as the first service of its kind in the industry, handled about 20 million deliveries across the country last year alone. Despite strong demand, annual usage in Jeju had been limited to 150,000 orders due to logistical constraints.

CJ Olive Young also launched a dedicated "Jeju Oneul Dream" tab within its mobile app, where Jeju residents can browse same-day eligible products and locally popular items. Discount coupons are being offered to mark the tab's launch.

CJ Olive Young plans to consistently upgrade its logistics infrastructure in Jeju and expand its product lineup to 16,000 items. A company official said the company would "consistently engage with local communities and continue investing in shopping infrastructure improvements and other initiatives outside the Greater Seoul area."
