Cheorwon-gun took home the top prize in the marketing category for basic local governments at the Korea International Tourism Fair, held July 3-5 at KINTEX in Ilsan.

The fair drew 95 organizations from across the country in a competitive showcase of tourism promotion. Among four award categories, Cheorwon-gun was recognized as the outstanding basic local government for its creative and proactive tourism marketing efforts.

During the fair, the county highlighted Cheorwon's distinctive natural attractions and tourism resources — including the Hwagangdaseulgi Festival, the Goseokjeong flower garden and the columnar joint trail — drawing a strong response from visitors and tourism industry officials, the county said.

"This award is a meaningful recognition of Cheorwon's beautiful tourist destinations and their potential on the national stage," county chief Kim Dong-il said. "We will continue to pour our efforts into making Cheorwon a place people want to return to and linger in, through trendy and diverse marketing."
