The Jungnang Donghaeng Vision Committee, comprising 30 residents and experts, holds its inaugural ceremony to review and advise on campaign pledge projects, setting the policy direction for the 9th elected-term administration and refining its commitments.
Jungnang-gu has launched the Jungnang Donghaeng Vision Committee, a body made up of local residents and experts, to give substance to the district's 9th elected-term campaign pledges and advance a resident-centered approach to governance, district mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi announced.
The committee consists of 30 members — local residents alongside specialists in education, economics and other fields — tasked with assessing the feasibility of pledged projects and developing policies that resonate with residents' perspectives. It will incorporate diverse community and expert input into policymaking to strengthen the overall quality of the 9th elected-term campaign commitments.
Launched with an inaugural ceremony Wednesday, the committee will operate through three subcommittees: a Happy City division covering education and welfare, a Self-Sustaining City division covering the economy, urban development and transportation, and an Attractive City division covering culture, the residential environment and walkability. Each subcommittee will hold two working sessions and a results briefing to review pledge projects, with focused discussions on key issues to provide advisory recommendations.
The district plans to refine its project plans based on the committee's recommendations, finalize the 9th elected-term campaign pledge projects in October and draw up a pledge implementation plan in November.
"The Jungnang Donghaeng Vision Committee will serve as a platform for channeling the diverse views of residents and experts into district administration," Ryu said. "We will build policy together with residents, develop effective pledges and lay a solid foundation for the 9th elected term."
