Ulju-gun in Ulsan opened the city's first AI education center Wednesday, establishing a new learning hub for residents as the county moves to build digital capacity in the age of artificial intelligence. The Ulju-gun AI Education Center occupies the first and second floors of the Cinema Building within the Jungbu General Welfare Town in Beomeo-eup.

The center's first floor houses a lounge-style classroom, while the second floor features an AI experience zone and individual soundproof booths. It operates Tuesday through Saturday, excluding public holidays, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visitors can reserve spots for educational programs and soundproof booth sessions through the center's website.

The first-floor classroom, equipped with an electronic whiteboard and wall-mounted displays, will offer tailored programs for youth, middle-aged residents, small-business owners and working professionals. The center will also run a music creation and listening program using an AI DJ.

On the second floor, visitors can engage with a range of interactive AI experiences — generating characters through facial recognition, obtaining QR-based ID cards, producing multilingual video messages and analyzing their voice with AI. The soundproof booths, paired with high-performance computers, also support English conversation practice and life-counseling sessions.

"In an era where AI proficiency has become essential, we will strengthen digital competitiveness through tailored programs for all age groups so that every resident can make practical use of AI in their daily lives," County Governor Lee Sun-geol said.
