Yu Bibim, who appeared on the Netflix cooking competition "Black and White Chef" as the "Bibim King," has rallied behind South Korea's national football team.

On Tuesday, Yu posted photos on social media with the message: "Heung-min bibimbap & Myung-bo bibimbap? A true bibimbap gift from the Bibim King. Let's mix it up, South Korea — fighting, South Korea — we are all, all great citizens of the Republic of Korea."

The photos showed bibimbap dishes created in honor of Son Heung-min and Hong Myung-bo.

Yu rendered their names in what he calls "bibim characters" — a hybrid script blending English letters and hangul. The post also included hashtags such as #HongMyungbo, #SonHeungmin and #BibimKing.

South Korea's national football team, led by head coach Hong, competed in the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North and Central America but was eliminated in the group stage with one win and two losses. Hong subsequently announced his resignation, taking responsibility for the early exit.

Meanwhile, Yu rose to prominence after appearing in Season 1 of the Netflix series "Black and White Chef: Culinary Class Wars" in 2024, but later voluntarily admitted to running an unlicensed restaurant and stepped back from public life for 10 months. He had operated the unlicensed establishment since 2003, was detained and received a suspended sentence.
