Bank signs 'Green Ladder x Space' project agreement with Good Neighbors

400 million won donated to fund new facilities

NH NongHyup Bank signed a memorandum of understanding with global children's rights NGO Good Neighbors on Tuesday to establish the fifth and sixth sites under the "Green Ladder x Space" project, and donated 400 million won ($258,000) to support the effort. The signing ceremony was held at the Good Neighbors headquarters in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

The "Green Ladder x Space" project is a corporate social responsibility initiative that converts unused spaces inside rural elementary schools into safe, freely accessible play and activity areas for children. The program gives children in rural communities — where cultural and recreational infrastructure is comparatively limited — a wider range of hands-on experiences, and helps close the education and cultural gap between urban and rural areas. Each site is built around a space-station concept, with dedicated play zones and rest areas for students.

NH NongHyup Bank opened the first site at a school in Taebaek, Gangwon Province, in 2024, followed by a second in Namwon, North Jeolla Province. This year, the bank completed a third site in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, and a fourth in Seocheon, South Chungcheong Province. Under the new agreement, the bank plans to select schools for the fifth and sixth sites.

"We will continue to expand our ESG activities to support the sustainable growth of agriculture, rural communities and local society."
