President Lee Jae Myung called on the newly installed floor leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea, led by floor leader Han Byung-do, to accelerate legislation on key state policy priorities.

Democratic Party floor spokesperson Lee Ju-hee said the president made the request at a dinner he hosted for the party's floor leadership at Cheong Wa Dae on Tuesday.

"The president expressed delight at reuniting with colleagues who had weathered hardships together and warmly congratulated the new floor leadership on taking office," Lee Ju-hee said. "He asked them to move faster in the second half of the year on processing legislation related to state policy tasks."

Han thanked the president for his recent overseas trip results and for pushing what he called three mega projects to drive a great leap forward for South Korea, pledging that the party would back their success through the necessary legislation.

Lee Ju-hee said the floor leadership members in attendance paid tribute to the president and the government's tireless efforts and outstanding achievements over the past year. She added that those present agreed to unite the ruling party and government more closely in the administration's second year, extending the first year's achievements to every corner of the country and laying the groundwork for progress in the livelihoods economy.
