Choi Jae-hun, chief of Dalseong-gun in Daegu, marked the start of the ninth elected-term administration Wednesday by holding an inaugural regular staff assembly at the county office's public communication hall, with about 300 employees in attendance.

At the event, Choi outlined five core campaign pledges for the ninth elected term: building a globally competitive economy that draws youth and creates abundant jobs; developing a self-sufficient lifestyle and transportation city; advancing future-oriented education; strengthening welfare and public health; and completing a tourism, culture and premium city.

Alongside this, Choi said he would ensure that key projects launched during the eighth elected term continue without disruption — including the development of Daegu's second national industrial complex, the relocation of the Daegu agricultural and marine products wholesale market and construction of a logistics complex, and the extension of Daegu Metro Line 1.

In his inaugural address, Choi said the achievements of the eighth elected term were made possible by the trust of residents and the dedication of public servants. "We will build on those achievements and take Dalseong-gun a step further in the ninth elected term," he said.

He particularly stressed that residents must always remain at the center of county governance. "We will find answers on the ground, think through challenges together with residents, and deliver an administration that brings change people can feel," he said.
