Six Thai remakes to stream on Indian OTT platform starting Thursday
CJ ENM is stepping up its push into global markets, leading with the intellectual property of hit drama series including "Signal," "Good Doctor" and "Start-Up."
CJ ENM's Hong Kong subsidiary will begin streaming Thai drama series on Thursday through Amazon MX Player, an Indian OTT platform. The titles were produced by True CJ Creations, a joint venture with a local partner.
All six titles are adapted from popular CJ ENM drama series: "23:23" (based on "Signal"), "Start-Up" (based on "Start-Up"), "Happiness" (based on "Happiness"), "Good Doctor" (based on "Good Doctor") and "Dear My Secretary" (based on "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim"), among others. The series will be available with English subtitles and Hindi dubbing, accounting for India's diverse viewing environments and cultural characteristics.
An official at CJ ENM's Hong Kong subsidiary said the company has pursued content collaboration on multiple fronts — including strategic partnerships and format localization — in step with sustained growth in demand for Asian entertainment in global markets.
The official went on to say the company will continue working to create new opportunities targeting global markets by combining Korea's mega-hit IP with the storytelling strengths of Southeast Asia.
