Price cut applies to June shipments, linked to government naphtha supply policy

SK Geocentric said Tuesday it will cut supply prices on key products to ease the financial burden on small and medium-sized customers facing high raw material costs.
The company will reduce prices of polymer products — including polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) — supplied to small and medium-sized enterprises by up to 200,000 won ($130) per ton. The price cut applies to shipments from June onward.
The move aims to relieve pressure on small manufacturers struggling with rising raw material costs and growing business uncertainty at home and abroad, and to support the stable operations and competitiveness of customer companies.
The price adjustment is linked to the government's naphtha supply stabilization policy. The government has been supporting petrochemical companies by covering 50 percent of the price increase above pre-war levels for contract volumes from April through June.
"We put this measure together to share the burden with our customers at a time of great uncertainty in the business environment," an SK Geocentric official said. "We will continue to expand cooperation initiatives built on trust with our customers going forward."
