Woori Bank announced Tuesday it will launch the "Anjeong-gage Project," an initiative to identify and support small business owners with growth potential.

The project will select 20 small business owners — drawn from users of the Woori Miso Finance Foundation and members of the nonprofit "Seonhan Yeonghyangyeok-gage" ("Good Influence Store") — who are committed to contributing to their local communities. Participants will receive support to strengthen their store competitiveness. The initiative is being carried out in partnership with the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency.

Selected stores will receive an official certification plaque and window stickers, along with promotional funding to boost their online marketing presence and opportunities for exposure through social media and press releases.

Professional consultants will also provide tailored advice covering sales growth, tax matters and overall business operations. Networking support will connect participants with mentor members of the Good Influence Store network to share store management know-how and community contribution activities. Applications will be accepted from July 1 through July 13 via the websites of the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency and the Woori Miso Finance Foundation.

Cha Jae-beom, deputy general manager of Woori Bank's ESG Shared Growth Finance Division, said he hopes the project will help small business owners build self-sustaining capabilities and spread positive influence within their communities. "We will continue to provide diverse support to build an inclusive finance ecosystem that grows alongside small business owners," he added.

Woori Financial Group plans to increase its productive finance allocation by 9.4 trillion won ($6.1 billion) and its inclusive finance allocation by 600 billion won under its Future Co-Growth Project, which aims to advance productive and inclusive finance.
