Yecheon-gun in North Gyeongsang Province was named the top institution in the "2026 Proposal System Operation Evaluation" organized by the provincial government, the county announced Tuesday.

The evaluation covered all 22 cities and counties in the province and assessed nine categories, including proposal submission and adoption rates for 2025, in-house open proposal operations, education performance, participation in the Lifestyle Policy Engagement Group, and outstanding case studies.

Yecheon-gun ranked first among county-level municipalities, earning high marks in quantitative assessments thanks to strong proposal adoption and implementation rates. The county also drew praise for actively incorporating locally tailored proposals into its administration last year, including the establishment of a youth learning center and an upcycling project.

The result reflects the county's sustained efforts to embed creative ideas into local governance and pursue innovative administration through open communication with residents.

"We will continue to operate the proposal system with greater substance, strengthen communication with residents, and do our utmost to deliver an administration that people can feel and be satisfied with," a Yecheon-gun official said.
