Nine firms in consumer goods and materials sectors
to tap Southeast Asian markets with city's support
Ulsan is dispatching a "Vietnam Comprehensive Market Exploration Mission" to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi from Tuesday through July 4, aiming to help local small and medium-sized enterprises break into overseas markets and expand exports.
The nine participating companies include five in consumer goods — cosmetics, food and perfume — and four in materials and equipment, covering industrial chemicals and manufacturing facilities. In Vietnam, the firms will hold buyer consultations, promote their products, seek new business partners and pursue export contracts.
On July 3, the mission will also take part in promotional activities tied to the 2026 Hanoi Hallyu Expo (KBEE 2026).
Consumer goods companies plan to leverage the hallyu promotional effect at a time when interest in Korean consumer products is running high. Materials and equipment firms will use the expo period to identify new business partners among manufacturing companies and distributors visiting the venue.
Ulsan will support the participating companies throughout the overseas promotional process — from renting local consultation spaces and connecting them with buyers to providing interpretation, one-way airfare and insurance coverage — to help them generate tangible export results.
"Diversifying overseas sales channels is essential for the sustained growth of local small and medium-sized enterprises, especially amid growing uncertainty in the global trade environment," a city official said. "We will do our best to help local companies make inroads into the Vietnamese and broader Southeast Asian markets through this mission."
