Event runs through July 29; first phase ends July 12
Shinsegae Department Store said it will hold "Taste the New World," a store-wide food festival, from July 1 through July 29.
The first phase, "Hot Taste Issue," runs through July 12 and features buyer-recommended deals on fresh produce, discounts at deli and dessert counters, a chef's table series, new pop-up stores and gourmet travel content.
The buyer-recommended specials cover seasonal fruit, meat, seafood and grocery items — including Zespri gold kiwis, cherries, Korean beef sirloin, beltfish and olive oil, all at competitive prices.
A lineup of popular eateries will also join the event. At the Gangnam branch, visitors can find Gwangan Jeil Bunsik and Otre Bakery, while the main store will host Inaka-an Black, a brand specializing in eel rice bowls. Daejeon Shinsegae Art&Science will feature Oh Donut, a handcrafted doughnut brand, and Dak Gangjeong Gongbang, a fried chicken concept directed by Chinese cuisine chef Park Eun-young. The Centum City branch will host a pop-up by Gangneung Gilgamja, a Gangneung street food specialist.
Shinsegae Academy will present an "Academy Chef's Table" series featuring well-known chefs including Gang Leo, Shin Hyeon-do, Jo Eun-hee and Kim Chang-uk. Through July 12, customers who use the food hall can also claim a "Shinbaek Reward Food Coupon Pack" through the store's app.
"Through this event, we will showcase Shinsegae Department Store's differentiated food content — from fresh produce deals and app coupon benefits to the chef's table, pop-up stores and gourmet travel experiences," said Lee Seong-hwan, executive director of sales strategy at Shinsegae Department Store.
