Korea Donggrami Partners operates standard workplace for workers with disabilities

Korea Donggrami Partners, a subsidiary of Hankook & Company Group that operates a standard workplace for employees with disabilities, said Monday it held a disability awareness program for its staff at the Suri Welfare Center for the Disabled in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, on June 26.

The program went beyond conventional education or one-time volunteer activities, focusing instead on helping participants experience firsthand the realities faced by people with disabilities and broaden their empathy and understanding. About 10 Korea Donggrami Partners employees took part, including newly hired staff.

Participants used mobility aids to navigate ramps and shared facilities, and took part in exercises simulating restricted vision to explore their surroundings. Through these activities, they experienced the physical barriers that people with limited mobility encounter in daily life, deepening their sensitivity to disability and building a shared appreciation for respect and consideration.

"This program was organized to foster a culture of understanding and inclusion — one where we recognize and embrace difference as fellow members of society," a Korea Donggrami Partners official said. "We will continue to expand efforts to improve disability awareness and broaden dialogue, while finding ways to put the values of diversity and inclusion into practice in our business operations."

Founded in 2015, Korea Donggrami Partners is a standard workplace for employees with disabilities, wholly owned by Hankook Tire & Technology. The company has consistently worked to strengthen the vocational capabilities of workers with disabilities and expand its business scope, while also actively promoting sports and cultural programs for people with disabilities and engaging in community service.

In recognition of these efforts, the company has received the Iron Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit and a presidential commendation at the disability employment promotion ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, as well as the Prime Minister's Award and a ministerial commendation from the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
