'When Technology Meets People' runs July 1-20
Performances, media, talks and hands-on programs on offer
LG CNS, in partnership with the Seoul Business Agency, will hold an interactive exhibition titled "When Technology Meets People: Connection Moves Toward the Heart" at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza showroom in Seoul from Tuesday through July 20, the company announced Sunday.
The exhibition goes beyond a simple showcase of corporate technology, inviting visitors to see, hear and experience it firsthand. LG CNS plans to combine robots, holograms, media art and brand merchandise creation to demonstrate that digital transformation technology touches not only industrial settings but also the everyday lives of citizens.
Visitors can deepen their understanding of digital technology and explore the changes that AI, robots and other key future technologies will bring through four programs: performances, media content, talks and hands-on experiences.
All exhibits are based on LG CNS's "Brand Experience (BX) Project," which won four awards at Germany's iF (International Forum) Design Award — one of the world's three major design prizes — in April last year.
The platform comprises a "BX Web" that integrates a brand's philosophy and corporate identity through design, and a "Typography System" that generates the company's proprietary typefaces and characters in various colors and materials. The exhibition concept based on BX was also selected as a winner in the "Social Impact Exhibition" category at this year's iF Award, earning recognition for its creative vision.
The performance program uses robots and hologram technology to present future technologies in an intuitive way. It opens with a runway performance featuring an automated guided vehicle (AGV) and CieNuS, LG CNS's BX character.
The AGV carries a costumed CieNuS across the stage, illustrating how robot technology can combine with fashion and exhibition content to create new customer experiences. A hologram drama series depicts digital technology woven naturally into everyday moments with family and friends, making it easy for visitors to relate to.
The media content uses the exhibition's central motif — the "Connecting Sphere" — to symbolically show how technology is woven into citizens' daily lives. The Connecting Sphere is a visual element that appears as a dot, a sphere or a heart depending on the viewing angle, representing the many forms in which technology connects people and society.
LG CNS's digital technologies used across transportation, finance, logistics, commerce and other sectors are also introduced through media devices placed throughout the venue, helping visitors more easily grasp the role technology plays in everyday life.
Talk programs featuring creators and researchers from the fields of culture, arts, science and the humanities will run throughout the exhibition period. In addition, visitors can take part in hands-on workshops to make their own keyrings, mugs and other items using CieNuS imagery and LG CNS typography.
"This exhibition is an attempt to present technology not as a difficult or distant concept, but as something that can be seen and felt in everyday life," said Yoo Ji-yeon, head of LG CNS's Brand Experience Strategy Team. "We hope it becomes an opportunity for people to reflect together on the direction technology should take for the benefit of human lives and society."
