Daegu city announced Monday it is accepting applications for its "Daegu 3030 Enterprise" designation, which recognizes outstanding local companies that have contributed to the regional economy through sound management and sustained job creation.
The program has been held every two years since 2008, with a total of 202 companies designated through 2024.
This year's eligibility criteria, based on the announcement date of May 27, require applicants to be small and medium-sized enterprises headquartered in Daegu with at least 30 years of operating history and a workforce of at least 30 employees.
Companies wishing to apply must submit an application form and supporting documents to Daegu City Hall or the Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in person or by mail, by July 10.
The city will review submissions through document screening, eligibility checks and deliberation before announcing final selections. Designation plaques will be awarded at the Daegu Small and Medium Enterprise Awards ceremony in November.
Designated companies receive a range of practical benefits, including preferential access to Daegu's small and medium-sized enterprise development fund for two years, priority support for overseas market missions and trade exhibitions for two years, and a three-year deferral of local tax audits.

Jo Gyeong-dong, Daegu's director of economic policy, said local companies that have operated in the same region for more than 30 years are "the sturdy backbone of the local economy." He added that he hopes businesses with strong technology and management capabilities will take an active interest and participate.
