Actors Kim Mu-yeol and Yoon Seung-ah have revealed how they broke down in tears together when they learned that Netflix series "Teach You a Lesson" had topped global charts.

On Friday, tvN's variety show "You Quiz on the Block" posted a video clip to its official social media accounts with the caption: "The story of how Kim Mu-yeol and Yoon Seung-ah held each other and wept when they heard 'Teach You a Lesson' had reached No. 1 globally."

In the preview clip, Kim recalled first hearing the news over the phone from the show's director. "After I hung up, my wife had just dropped off our son and was coming back inside, so I went down to the underground parking garage to tell her," he said.

"I tried to say, 'They say we hit No. 1 globally,' but the words wouldn't come out — I was so overwhelmed. Especially in front of my wife, the tears just kept coming, and we held each other and cried. That moment stays with me," he added.

Kim went on to say the memory would sustain him for years to come. "There will be difficult times ahead for us as a couple, but remembering how we held each other and cried together that day gives me so much strength. It will be one of those moments I carry with me for the rest of my life," he said.

Yoon also spoke with the production team, saying her husband is not someone who cries easily. "You could count on one hand the times you've seen him cry," she said. "But he cried for the first time, saying 'thank you' — and that got to me."

She added that watching Kim's journey over the years made the milestone especially meaningful. "I've personally witnessed our time together and Kim Mu-yeol's time as an actor for a long time, so this feels different," she said. "I said just one thing to him: 'You've worked so hard.' That was the first thing that came to mind, and the thing I most wanted to say."

Kim and Yoon married in 2015 and have one son. The couple are widely regarded as one of the entertainment industry's most devoted pairs and have consistently shown affection for each other.

Kim plays Na Hwa-jin in the recently released Netflix series "Teach You a Lesson," which has drawn wide acclaim. The show follows the Education Rights Protection Agency, a unit created to defend a crumbling education system, and has topped the Netflix global Top 10 non-English TV chart for three consecutive weeks since its release.
