Company has renovated aging homes for veterans since 2014

Junghung Construction, a member of Junghung Group, has received a government commendation for its contributions to improving housing conditions for national veterans.

The company announced Friday that it received a ministerial commendation from the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans at the "2026 Veterans' Aging Home Repair and Rental Support Ceremony," held June 24 at the FKI Tower Conference Center in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

Now in its 33rd year, the ceremony was jointly organized by the Korea Housing Builders Association and the Korea Housing Finance Corp. (HUG) to recognize housing companies for their social contribution activities, including free repairs to aging homes owned by veterans. About 100 people attended, including Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Minister Kwon O-eul, Gwangbokhoe President Lee Jong-chan and HUG President Choi In-ho.

Junghung Construction was selected as this year's commendation recipient in recognition of its consistent participation in the veterans housing improvement project and its commitment to corporate social responsibility. The company has taken part in the program for 12 consecutive years since 2014, providing support to veteran households living in substandard conditions to help establish a stable residential foundation.

The company said it plans to further expand its social contribution activities aimed at improving housing conditions for veterans, as part of its ongoing commitment to honoring those who served the nation.

Lee Gyeong-ho, CEO of Junghung Construction, attended the ceremony and accepted the commendation in person. He said it was meaningful to take part in a project that improves living conditions for those who dedicated themselves to the country. "We will continue to participate in this project so that more veteran households can benefit from genuine housing stability," he said.

Meanwhile, about 120 executives and employees from key divisions — including sales, planning, contracting and development — who had been based at Junghung Group's headquarters in Sinan-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, relocated to the company's Seoul office earlier this month and have begun full operations there.
