SK Gas employees donated 1,000 kg of rice — raised through a resource-recycling program — to migrants living in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province.

The company announced Friday that the donation ceremony took place Thursday at the Migrant Citizens Solidarity Social Cooperative in Ansan. Attendees included Jung Yun-hae, manager of SK Gas's ESG Operations Team; Kwak Min-jeong, head of the cooperative; and Park Mi-hyeon, head of Touch4Good.

The donation came through a corporate social responsibility program in which 318 SK Gas employees and their family members voluntarily took part in upcycling and resource-recycling activities run by Touch4Good, a specialist recycling organization. Their participation was converted into a rice equivalent and supplemented by additional contributions. The donated rice went to after-school care programs for children of migrant families in the Ansan area.

SK Gas employees have consistently taken part in other social contribution activities as well. On June 9, they joined a summer kimchi-making volunteer event at Hayan Maeul Welfare Center in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province — part of a joint community service initiative by SK Discovery Group member companies — preparing 400 boxes of kimchi. On June 11, employees also participated in a group blood donation drive open to staff across SK Discovery Group member companies.

"It is meaningful that the small participation of our employees and their families has come together to provide real, tangible help to other families in the community," an SK Gas official said. "Going forward, SK Gas will continue to internalize ESG management and strive to help our employees practice ESG values in their daily lives, growing together with the communities around us."
