New powdered drink targets fitness enthusiasts and campers with portable, convenient format
Lotte Chilsung Beverage announced Friday it is launching Gatorade Powder Lemon Lime, a powdered version of the popular sports drink.
The product was developed in response to growing demand for portable, powdered sports drinks, driven by the spread of the "healthy pleasure" wellness trend and a rise in the number of people exercising and engaging in outdoor activities.
The powder combines the flavor profile of Gatorade's flagship product with a lime twist and contains electrolytes — including sodium, potassium and chloride ions — to help replenish fluids and electrolytes lost through sweat and relieve thirst.
Each stick pack contains 35 grams and is designed for easy carrying. The product comes in boxes of 10 sticks. To prepare, consumers pour one stick into 400 to 500 milliliters of water and shake.
The product will be available through online shopping platforms including Chilsung Mall, as well as hypermarkets.
Lotte Chilsung Beverage also plans to distribute Gatorade Powder Lemon Lime to construction workers to help prevent heat-related illness. The company has already signed MOUs with Lotte E&C, SK Ecoplant, Hyundai E&C and Hanwha's construction division to operate on-site booths at worksites, providing beverages, cooling towels and cold packs to help workers manage body temperature.
"We will continue a range of activities to expand consumer touchpoints and offer new drinking experiences built on Gatorade's strengths as a sports drink," a Lotte Chilsung Beverage official said.
