Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Wolsong Nuclear Power Plant held its second Nuclear Power Plant Communication Committee meeting of 2026 on Monday.

The committee comprises 14 members in total — three internal members including plant chief Kwon Won-taek, along with 11 external members drawn from the Gyeongju City Council, local residents and regional experts.

At the meeting, Wolsong shared the results of its community engagement activities, including a staff-funded initiative to deliver side dishes to low-income households, a seedling support project during the rice-planting season, and the release of olive flounder fry and abalone spat raised at the plant's warm-water aquaculture facility.

"We will continue to communicate closely with local residents through the Nuclear Power Plant Communication Committee," Kwon said, "and we will keep developing and rolling out support projects that people in the community can feel directly."
