Hoban Construction's Pohang Chokok Hoban Verdium apartment complex in Chokok district, Buk-gu, Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, is drawing interest from prospective buyers as it launches a confirmed pre-sale reservation system ahead of the expiration of its mandatory rental period in January 2028. Expectations for rising residential value in the Chokok district are also growing as the Chokok western road project — considered a key piece of transportation infrastructure for northern Pohang — moves into full development.

According to Pohang city, the Chokok western road will connect Hakcheon-ri in Heunghae-eup to National Route 7 in Masang-ri via Chokok-ri, at a projected cost of about 90 billion won ($58.6 million). Once completed, the road is expected to significantly improve connectivity between Chokok district, Pentacity and the KTX Pohang Station area.

Amid this, Pohang Chokok Hoban Verdium — regarded as the flagship residential complex in Chokok district — is now accepting confirmed pre-sale reservations.

The complex rises from one below-ground floor to a maximum of 26 above-ground floors and comprises 824 units in total. Units range in exclusive use area from 59 to 106 square meters across a variety of floor plans. All units are oriented primarily toward the south, and most feature a four-bay design to maximize natural light and ventilation. Generous storage space — including kitchen pantries and entryway closets — has also been incorporated to enhance everyday livability.

Pre-sale prices vary by unit size. The 59-square-meter and 84-square-meter types, which attract the broadest demand, are priced in the 7 million won range per pyeong (1 pyeong equals 3.3 square meters), while the 106-square-meter type is priced in the 8 million won range per pyeong.

The complex offers a range of community facilities, including a golf practice range, fitness club, group exercise room, small library and kids cafe. Gardens and green spaces are distributed throughout the grounds to create a comfortable living environment.

The complex also benefits from a strong educational environment. Chokok Elementary School and Choseo Elementary School are nearby, and Chokok Middle School (tentative name) is scheduled to open in March 2029. A high school site has also been secured in the vicinity, with further improvements to local schooling expected in the years ahead.

Particularly notable is the planned application of Hoban Summit, Hoban Construction's premium residential brand. Exterior upgrades, parking improvements and enhancements to shared facilities are to be carried out in phases, with the aim of raising both the product quality and brand value of the complex.

Transportation access is another selling point. The complex offers convenient access to KTX Pohang Station and easy connections to major parts of Pohang via National Routes 7 and 28. Once the Chokok western road opens, the regional transport network linking Chokok district, Pentacity and the KTX Pohang Station area is expected to be further strengthened.

"The Chokok western road project is being recognized as a critical piece of transportation infrastructure that can elevate the overall living conditions of the Chokok district area by a significant degree," an industry official said. "Pohang Chokok Hoban Verdium has strong educational and lifestyle infrastructure, solid product quality, and the added appeal of anticipated transportation improvements — all of which continue to attract interest from genuine end-users."
