Dunamu, the operator of digital asset exchange Upbit, announced Wednesday that its Upbit Staking service has claimed the top spot globally in Polygon (POL) staking participation, surpassing validators from major exchanges including Binance and Coinbase.

According to Validator Info, a portal that aggregates digital asset staking data, Upbit Staking currently ranks highest among 102 active validators participating in the Polygon ecosystem token network.

Dunamu said the result demonstrates the maturity of South Korea's digital asset market and its global technological competitiveness, noting that Upbit had outpaced validators from major international exchanges such as Binance and Coinbase.

Polygon was added to the Upbit Staking service in October 2023 and has seen rapid growth as users seeking a secure staking environment have consistently joined the platform. As of Tuesday, the total amount of POL staked through Upbit stood at 413,173,181 POL.

Upbit Staking's core competitive strengths are its in-house operational capabilities and transparent asset management. Rather than entrusting members' delegated digital assets to third-party providers, Upbit stakes directly on blockchain networks through validators it operates itself. The company also stores staked assets in cold wallets to enhance security and prevent arbitrary use, with a strong emphasis on protecting user assets.

Meanwhile, Upbit Staking is expanding its presence in global markets by consistently ranking near the top across major digital asset staking categories. As of Tuesday, it ranked second in Cosmos, 10th in Ethereum and 14th in Solana, continuing to grow its influence in the global market.
