Daegu Health College held a completion ceremony Saturday for its high school-university career-exploration program at Room 304 of Yeonma Hall.

The program, run jointly with the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education, supports the high school credit system. About 30 people attended the ceremony, including 26 high school students who completed the curriculum and faculty members.

The college has run the program since signing an MOU with the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education on high school-university credit recognition in January last year.

Students participated in the program for about three months, deepening their understanding of their chosen majors. Those who met the course requirements received completion certificates.

The program is linked to the high school credit system and counts toward high school graduation credits. Students who go on to enroll at Daegu Health College can also receive university credit recognition and bonus points in the admissions process.

Lee Jeon-hyeong, academic affairs dean and professor of physical therapy, said the program gives high school students a chance to experience university majors firsthand and map out their aptitudes and career paths in concrete terms. "Going forward, the college will expand cooperation with local high schools in connection with the Glocal University 30 project and continue to offer student-centered career and major exploration education," he said.
