International students enrolled in the Beauty Convergence Department at Yeungjin University of Science wrapped up the first semester of the 2026 academic year by sharing their aspirations and reasons for choosing to study in South Korea at a "K-Beauty Mini Showcase."
According to the university, 26 students from Japan, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Mexico, Algeria and other countries are currently studying K-beauty techniques and hands-on industry skills in the department.
On Sunday, the students gathered in Room 306 of the campus information building to present their first-semester work alongside their adviser, professor Hong Jeong-a.
Chu Kim Oanh, a first-year student from Vietnam, said she was inspired by watching her mother pour her life into caring for the family. "I wanted to become someone who gives women beauty and confidence," she said. Her goal after graduation is to open a beauty shop in Vietnam and help middle-aged women rebuild their confidence as a professional.
The Beauty Convergence Department has established itself as a global education hub where students from around the world pursue their dreams in K-beauty. Beyond coursework, students actively take part in competitions, volunteer work, field training and certification programs to sharpen their professional skills. Hong said the students are developing not only K-beauty techniques but also Korean language proficiency and a global perspective. "We will continue to do our best to nurture globally competitive beauty professionals ready for the world market," she said.
