Vouchers to be distributed starting Wednesday

Military, police, fire department and correctional civil servants to receive additional 10% benefit

Samsung Electronics announced Tuesday it has begun issuing digital Onuri gift vouchers to customers who participated in its "Together with the People, Samsung Electronics Gratitude Festival."

The four-week campaign, which launched June 8, was designed to share with the public the company's achievements in semiconductors and other sectors as the AI era takes hold.

Participating customers will receive their digital Onuri gift vouchers on a rolling basis starting as early as Wednesday.

Samsung Electronics will issue vouchers worth 20% of the purchase price to all customers who buy Samsung products during the event period. Military personnel, police officers, firefighters and correctional civil servants will receive an additional 10% benefit.

Customers who purchased Samsung Electronics products during the event period must sign up for a Samsung membership on Samsung.com by Sept. 30 and enter details including the purchased item, place of purchase, model code and serial number.

Once registration is complete, Onuri gift vouchers equivalent to 20% of the product's purchase price will be issued to the customer's digital Onuri app on a rolling basis, starting approximately two weeks after the application date.

To receive the vouchers, customers must download and install the digital Onuri app on their mobile device in advance and create an account. The vouchers can be used like cash at traditional markets, neighborhood small-business shops, convenience stores and other everyday locations.

The vouchers cannot be used at stores with annual sales exceeding 3 billion won ($2.17 million), or at any of 33 restricted business categories including hospitals, clinics, traditional medicine clinics, and legal and accounting services. A full list of participating merchants is available through the digital Onuri app or the official Onuri gift voucher website.

Samsung Electronics chose to issue Onuri gift vouchers rather than offer direct price discounts in order to contribute to local economic revitalization beyond its own customer base. The company said it aims to foster social co-prosperity and growth through this virtuous cycle.
