Actor Nana, a former member of the K-pop group After School, drew attention after indirectly referencing a robbery she had experienced during an acceptance speech at a public ceremony.

On Saturday, Nana won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in the drama series "Climax" at the 2026 Korea International Streaming Festival Global OTT Awards, held at the Roof Theater of the Busan Cinema Center in Busan.

In her acceptance speech, Nana thanked the organizers for the honor. "I'm so grateful to receive such a big award in such a wonderful venue on such a lovely day," she said, adding that she believed the director would be the happiest of all. "This award belongs to the director."

She closed her remarks on a note that drew particular attention. "I will keep acting, and I want to be an actor who makes a positive impact on audiences through good performances and an honest, genuine presence," she said. "I hope you all stay healthy, watch out for thieves, and be happy."

The audience responded with laughter and warm applause.

Nana was the victim of a robbery at her home in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, last November. The suspect, identified only as A, was indicted on charges of threatening Nana and her mother with a weapon and demanding valuables. Prosecutors sought a 10-year prison sentence at the final hearing, but the court of first instance sentenced him to seven years. A has since filed an appeal.

Shortly after the verdict, Nana posted on her social media: "Multiple trials because of a criminal. Consistently false statements. No remorse. No forgiveness" — making her anger and resolve clear.
