KGM calls Germany 'key European market,' pledges aggressive sales push
KG Mobility is stepping up its push into the European market. Following launch events in Turkey and Chile, the automaker held a media test-drive event in Germany — where it operates a European sales subsidiary — to build momentum for broader sales expansion.
KGM announced Monday that it hosted a Musso launch and test-drive event June 17-18 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. More than 40 local journalists and influencers attended.
The event featured test-drive programs for both the Musso and the Musso EV. KGM also displayed Musso vehicles fitted with dedicated customizing accessories and parts — including a hardtop and roll cover — to highlight the truck's practicality and leisure versatility.
The test-drive route was designed with the German market in mind. Participants set off on local roads, merged onto the autobahn, then climbed to the Feldberg summit before passing through the Taunus mountain range. The course let them experience high-speed stability and handling on winding roads, as well as the pickup's cargo and leisure capabilities.
The Musso EV portion of the event spotlighted the electric vehicle's versatility. KGM demonstrated the truck's vehicle-to-load function by connecting a sound system and ice maker, showing how the EV can power camping and car-camping setups — underscoring both its eco-friendly credentials and its suitability for outdoor activities.
Sales of the Musso, which launched in January, have continued to build. Through May, the model had sold 6,642 units domestically and 4,896 units overseas, for a combined total of 11,538 — surpassing the 10,000-unit mark across home and export markets within five months of launch.
Attendees showed strong interest in the Musso's design — which blends a traditional pickup image with SUV sensibility — as well as its driving performance and convenience features. The Musso EV drew attention for its appeal as an electric pickup and its suitability for leisure activities.
A KGM official said the Musso has received positive market reception since its launch, crossing 10,000 combined sales in five months after debut events in Turkey and Chile. "Germany is KGM's largest export market after Turkey and Hungary, and a key European market with significant influence on neighboring countries," the official said. "We plan to expand sales volume through aggressive market strategies and diverse marketing initiatives."
KGM held a large-scale dealer conference in Germany in February, and in April conducted local test-drive events for the Actyon and Torres hybrid models, steadily broadening its presence in the European market. Building on the Musso launch, the company plans to push sales across Germany and Europe by leading with both its internal combustion and electric pickup offerings.
