The Ulsan Metropolitan City government and the Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry are accepting applications through July 3 for the 2026 Busan-Ulsan-South Gyeongsang Labor and Lifestyle Settlement Package Support project, which targets workers who commute across the three regions.

The project is part of the Ministry of Employment and Labor-backed "Busan-Ulsan-South Gyeongsang Mega-Regional Talent, Settlement and Future Connection Project," designed to ease the financial burden on cross-regional commuters.

Eligible applicants are workers commuting to companies in the Busan, Ulsan or South Gyeongsang area. Foreign nationals holding a resident (F-2), permanent resident (F-5) or marriage immigrant (F-6) visa may also apply.

Eligible companies must be priority-support firms or small and medium-sized enterprises in the manufacturing sector with up to 500 full-time employees. They must also operate in the three regions' shared key industries — shipbuilding, automobiles, and machinery and parts, along with related sectors.

A total of 1,350 recipients will be selected based on a scoring system that considers workplace location, proximity to industrial complexes near regional boundaries, length of employment and wage level. Selected workers will receive up to 2.3 million won over six months, combining a commuting incentive called "labor settlement support" and a "lifestyle settlement support" allowance to help stabilize their daily living.

Specifically, recipients will receive 300,000 won per month in commuting costs — totaling 1.8 million won over six months, paid in two-month installments — along with a one-time payment of 500,000 won in local currency usable in their workplace region, including Dongbaekjeon, Ulsan Pay and the South Gyeongsang Love Gift Card.
