The North Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education announced Monday that it will carry out a regular personnel reshuffle of local civil servants effective July 1.

The reshuffle covers 688 positions in total, including 112 promotions, 559 transfers, two new appointments and other personnel actions.

At the Grade 3 deputy director level, Jang Jung-chan, the planning and budget officer, has been reassigned as director of the administrative bureau.

Four officials were promoted to Grade 4 secretary-level positions.

Kim Jeong-hwan, head of the administrative support division at the Goryeong Education Support Office, was promoted to audit and coordination officer. Kim Yeong-hui, an administrative officer in the education cooperation section of the planning and budget office, was promoted to education cooperation officer. Kwon Sun-cheol, head of the administrative support division at the Andong Education Support Office, was promoted to general affairs chief at the North Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education Research Institute. Jo Gyeong-je, head of the administrative support division at the Gumi Education Support Office, was promoted to general affairs chief at the North Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education Information Center.

Seven officials were promoted to Grade 5 administrative officer positions — four in educational administration, one in library services and two in public health. The office said the reshuffle was based on performance and competency to strengthen organizational expertise and expand growth opportunities for talented staff.

"Through this reshuffle, we will breathe new energy into the organization and further strengthen the momentum for change and innovation," North Gyeongsang education superintendent Lim Jong-sik said. "We will push forward core education policies with speed and a sense of responsibility, grounded in each person's expertise, to realize a North Gyeongsang education that students and parents can truly feel."
