The social welfare department of Daegu Haany University has been named an outstanding booth at the 22nd Korea Youth Expo — the country's largest youth event — and received the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Award.

The expo was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, South Jeolla Province and Yeosu City, and was held at the Yeosu Expo Convention Center from May 28 to 30. More than 170 institutions and organizations from across the country participated, showcasing a range of youth experience programs.

A team of 14 students from the department, led by student Choi Eun-seon and supervised by Professor Lee Chae-sik, operated a hands-on booth called "Monggeul-monggeul Happy Assembly Station: Making Keycap Keyrings," which drew high marks from evaluators.

A university official said the award reflects the results of field-centered social welfare education pursued through the university's innovation support project, adding that the department plans to expand extracurricular programs and community-linked activities to further strengthen students' practical skills and professional expertise.
