Gangnam-gu (district mayor Jo Seong-myeong) will hold the "2026 Gangnam Picnic Concert × Garosu-gil Design Week" on Saturday at Han River Park's Sinsa-Jamwon district and along Garosu-gil in Sinsa-dong.

The event is designed as an urban cultural tourism festival combining daytime activities on a car-free Garosu-gil — performances, food and hands-on experiences — with an evening concert at Han River Park where visitors can spread picnic mats and enjoy live music and fireworks.

**Spread Out a Picnic Mat by the Han River — the Feel-Good 'Picnic Concert'**

The "2026 Gangnam Picnic Concert" runs from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the multipurpose sports field in Han River Park's Sinsa-Jamwon district. Seven acts spanning multiple generations will take the stage — N.Flying, Park Ji-hyun, Crying Nut, Seeya, Bada, Seo Young-eun and Kim Won-jun — covering a wide range of genres including band, ballads and trot music. A fireworks display over the Han River will close out the night.

The standout feature of this year's concert is a significantly expanded picnic atmosphere. The venue will accommodate 6,400 in total — 2,000 conventional seats and 4,400 spots in a dedicated picnic zone. That marks a major shift away from the standing-room format of previous years, allowing concertgoers to lay down mats and take in the river breeze and night skyline while watching the show. Admission is free, and wristbands will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at on-site ticket booths starting at 11 a.m. that day.

**Garosu-gil Goes Car-Free — 'Culinary Class Wars' Chefs and a Character Wonderland**

From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. the same day, the "2026 Garosu-gil Design Week" will take over Garosu-gil in Sinsa-dong. A 430-meter stretch of the street (between Garosu-gil 32 and 82) will be closed to traffic for the day. Visitors can stroll down the middle of the boulevard and freely enjoy street performances, food trucks, a flea market, activity booths and character photo zones.

This year's event places a particularly strong emphasis on food. Four special food trucks operated by chefs from the hit Netflix show "Culinary Class Wars" will be on hand — Bang Gi-su's dakgangjeong (crispy fried chicken), Lee Young-suk's royal-style tteokbokki, Chae Nak-young's tacos and Jo Gwang-hyo's mapo tofu — bringing the dishes that captivated the nation to the street. Rounding out the food scene are booths from private brands including Yayaya & Friends and Jumbo Seafood, 16 local Garosu-gil stores, and 78 fashion, beauty and living flea market stalls.

The main stage will feature special performances by Park Mi-kyung, Ulala Session and Sung Min. Large character installations — including Gangnam-dol, Hyundai Department Store's Heindi, Butter Bear and Pampals — will be placed throughout the festival grounds. Interactive programs for families, couples and friends include a "Draw Our Own Garosu-gil" art activity, caricature portraits, dessert-shaped keyring making and K-beauty experiences.

To boost business along the Garosu-gil commercial strip, a "Garosu-gil Sale Festa" will run June 10 through June 14. Visitors who make purchases at any of the roughly 160 participating stores in the area during that period can enter a receipt-based prize draw and other events.

"This event was designed to link the Han River picnic concert with the car-free street festival on Garosu-gil so that visitors can enjoy Gangnam's culture, food and shopping all in one day," district mayor Jo said. "Through the synergy of connecting the Han River and Garosu-gil, we will energize the local commercial district and build this into a signature cultural tourism experience that residents and tourists will want to return to again and again."
