The Gyeonggi Center for Economic Promotion held a briefing Monday at its main office in Yangpyeong for members of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly's Economy and Labor Committee, discussing measures to revitalize the local economy.

The visit was led by Ko Eun-jung, chair of the Economy and Labor Committee, and included committee members and related civil servants. Participants reviewed the agency's key project progress and explored policy options to strengthen the self-sufficiency of small business owners.

The agency reported on the results and future plans for its major initiatives, including the Gyeonggi Economic Revival Big Sale, a commercial district manager support project, an alley commercial district revitalization project, a small business management environment improvement project, and a micro-manufacturer self-sufficiency strengthening project.

Attendees heard directly from small business owners struggling with the prolonged economic downturn and engaged in in-depth discussions on building self-sustaining traditional markets and alley commercial districts, as well as establishing a more effective, field-centered support system.

Kim Min-cheol, president of the agency, said the meeting was "a meaningful occasion to broadly discuss the pressing issues facing small business owners, traditional markets and alley commercial districts together with the Economy and Labor Committee."
