Anyang city held a barley harvest event June 13 at the barley field established along the Hwachang Wetland floodplain of the Anyang Stream Eco Story Center.

More than 110 people took part, including 18 pre-registered families, members of the Anyang Silver Forum, civic group members, center staff and volunteers.

Participants used sickles to cut barley stalks and practiced the traditional technique of bundling them into sheaves. Members of the Anyang Silver Forum, drawing on their farming backgrounds, took the lead in the harvesting work and helped the event run smoothly.

Through the collective effort of participants, the entire barley field — spanning roughly 1,000 square meters — was harvested that day. The yield came to more than 50 sacks of barley ears.
