New lineup opens for orders Monday
Combines spaciousness with accessible pricing
9-seat 3.5 gasoline and 1.6 turbo hybrid models available first
7-seat variant to follow in second half of year
Kia announced Monday that it has launched a new Carnival lineup variant, the Kia Carnival High Roof, and opened orders for the vehicle.
The Carnival High Roof applies a high-roof design to the standard Carnival to significantly enhance interior space. Kia said the model delivers the generous headroom long associated with the Carnival Hi Limousine, while offering a more accessible price point to broaden customer choice.
The Carnival High Roof uses the same steel roof material as the existing Carnival Hi Limousine, ensuring strong durability and safety. The vehicle stands 270 millimeters taller than the standard Carnival, providing ample headroom for both second- and third-row passengers and creating a more comfortable cabin.
On the exterior, horizontal chrome molding and large LED rear auxiliary brake lights add a premium, refined look befitting the vehicle's class while also improving rear visibility.
The interior features suede materials to create a lounge-like atmosphere, and rear LED reading lights enhance passenger convenience.
Kia will first release the Carnival High Roof in a 9-seat configuration, with a 7-seat variant to follow later in the second half of the year.
Two powertrains are available — a 3.5 gasoline and a 1.6 turbo hybrid. Exterior colors come in two options: Aurora Black Pearl and Snow White Pearl. The interior is offered in Cotton Beige.
Kia has priced the Carnival High Roof from the 50 million won ($32,900) range, aiming to make the premium space experience accessible to a wider range of customers.
Prices by trim are as follows: for the 3.5 gasoline, the Noblesse is 52.11 million won and the Signature is 55.66 million won; for the 1.6 turbo hybrid, the Noblesse is 56.66 million won and the Signature is 60.21 million won.
"The Kia Carnival High Roof is a new lineup designed to let customers experience the outstanding space value unique to the Hi Limousine in a more accessible way," a Kia official said. "We will continue to expand choices tailored to customers' diverse lifestyles and mobility needs, delivering the differentiated product value that only the Carnival can offer."
Meanwhile, the Carnival sold 4,543 units in the domestic market in May, making it the second best-selling vehicle after the compact SUV Sportage, which moved 4,760 units, and helping drive the brand's overall earnings.
