New 200M tier added to existing 100M, 500M and 1-gigabit lineup at a competitive price
LG Uplus has launched a 200M internet plan, aiming to give customers a broader range of options that better reflect how they actually use the internet.
The company said Monday it is rolling out five 200M internet products targeting households and small-business stores. The new tier slots between the existing 100M and 500M speed options — joining a lineup that previously centered on 100M, 500M and 1-gigabit plans — and reflects changes in how customers on 100M plans are using the internet, including higher overall data consumption.
Internet usage patterns have been shifting in both home and store environments. At home, demand has grown for high-definition video streaming and generative AI applications. In small-business settings, the simultaneous use of point-of-sale terminals, kiosks, security cameras and computers has become standard. As a result, even customers on 100M plans have increasingly sought faster speeds and greater stability.
In response, LG Uplus has restructured its internet speed tiers into four levels: 100M, 200M, 500M and 1 gigabit. The 200M option is designed for customers who need more than 100M can offer amid rising data consumption and a growing number of simultaneous connections, while keeping costs lower than the 500M tier.
The 200M plan is available for an additional 3,300 won (about $2.40) per month, inclusive of value-added tax, on top of the existing 100M rate. The five products are: Wi-Fi Basic Ansim 200M, Premium Ansim 200M, Premium Ansim Compensation 200M, (SOHO) Payment Ansim 200M and (SOHO) Ansim Compensation 200M. Bundled devices and add-on services — including a harmful-site blocking service — remain the same as those offered with the 100M products.
LG Uplus said it plans to continue refining its internet product lineup and strengthening the quality and stability that customers can experience across a range of settings, from homes to stores.
"The 200M internet plan was developed by analyzing real changes in how our customers use the internet," said Yoo Ho-seong, head of LG Uplus's home business division. "We will keep upgrading our product lineup so customers can choose an internet service that fits their lifestyle and usage environment."
