The North Gyeongsang Provincial Assembly held an appointment ceremony June 12 at the assembly secretariat office for labor attorneys designated to prevent gapjil — workplace power abuse — and protect victims.
The two certified labor attorneys appointed that day, Hwang Jeong-seok and Lee Ji-in, will serve in the roles for two years.
The attorneys will provide professional counseling services to assembly members and civil servants, including consultations for gapjil victims, guidance on reporting procedures, and advice on responding to incidents.
Kim Jin-hyeon, secretary-general of the North Gyeongsang Provincial Assembly, said the assembly would "do its utmost to strengthen victim protection and counseling support systems through the appointment of qualified labor attorneys, and to foster a workplace culture of mutual respect and consideration."
