Seoul's Nowon-gu is hosting the 'Gyeongchun Line Gongneung Forest Path Coffee Festival' in the Gongneung-dong area Saturday and Sunday.
Built around the cafe strip near Gyeongchun Line Forest Path in Gongneung-dong, the event is the first coffee culture festival organized by an autonomous district in Seoul. This year marks its fourth edition.
Running Saturday and Sunday, the festival features 141 booths where local cafes representing the Gongneung-dong commercial district, coffee-producing countries and well-known cafes from across the country each showcase their appeal.
The district has laid out a 1.1-kilometer festival grounds spanning the stretch from Gongneung Station to the Dongbu Apartment intersection and along Gyeongchun Line Forest Path, with experience booths, photo zones, a main stage and busking stage, a youth market, and rest areas distributed throughout to maximize visitor convenience and variety.
"We opened this coffee-themed festival to help the Gyeongchun Line Gongneung Forest Path cafe street grow into a mecca of coffee culture," Nowon-gu Mayor Oh Seung-rok said. "Just as the coffee festival continues to grow, I hope Nowon's culture and local commercial district will keep developing alongside it."
