Yeongdeungpo-gu District Chief Choi Ho-kwon attended the opening ceremony of the 3rd Yeongdeungpo Garden Festival, "Garden Picnic," held Thursday afternoon at Yeongdeungpo Park.
Now in its third year, the festival runs June 12–14. The three-day program features a picnic sports day, a Seoul-style kids cafe and a garden library, along with exhibitions, cultural performances and other events.
A highlight is "Family Flower Pot Making," a hands-on program inviting families to create their own mini garden together. The district also plans a surprise event in which eight participating families will be selected on-site to receive gifts.
"I hope residents can step away from their busy daily lives and enjoy the tranquility of the garden — a leisurely moment like a picnic," Choi said. "I hope you create special and cherished memories at Yeongdeungpo Park with the people who matter most to you."
