'Excited to return to TFC, which feels like home'
Heavyweight bout set against PFL's Grogue
Jung Da-woon, who competed in the UFC light heavyweight division, will step onto the domestic stage at TFC 22.
TFC announced Friday that Jung will fight at TFC 22, set for July 11 at TFC Dream Center in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province.
The event opens with three undercard bouts starting at 4:30 p.m., followed by four main card fights after 6 p.m., and concludes the following day with the main event at 1 p.m. — eight bouts in total. Jung is slated for the final contest, the main event and fifth main card fight of the card.
His opponent will be France's Mikael Grogue. Jung went 4-4-1 in nine UFC light heavyweight (93 kilograms) bouts between 2019 and 2024. Grogue posted a 1-2 record in the PFL heavyweight division (120 kilograms) from 2024 to 2025. PFL ranks as the world's second-largest MMA organization. The bout will be contested at heavyweight.
Jung will fight in front of Korean fans for the first time since the UFC Busan event in 2019 — a seven-year gap. He said he would "prove myself again with a never-give-up spirit." TFC is familiar ground for him: he went 3-2 there between 2015 and 2017.
"I kept training without a break for two years after my UFC contract ended," Jung said. "I'm excited to return to TFC, which feels like home, and to greet the Korean fans again."
Jung is one of 16 UFC fighters TFC has produced. TFC 22 will also mark the first event held at the organization's dedicated venue, TFC Dream Center.
