Agency's official account says it's binge-watching the show at home on weekends
A comment left by the Korea Customs Service's official account on actor Jin Ki-joo's social media has drawn attention online.
Jin recently posted a photo from the press showcase for the Netflix drama series "Cham Gyoyuk" on Instagram, writing, "Watch 'Cham Gyoyuk' this weekend."
Fans flooded the post with comments including "What a transformation — great performance," "She yells and gets so angry but she's still cute," and "This show is so fun."
Among the replies, the Korea Customs Service's official account stood out. The account's administrator left a witty message: "Staying home this weekend to watch it. 'Cham Gyoyuk' has taken over my entire algorithm!"
Jin has served as a promotional ambassador for the Korea Customs Service since 2021.
The unexpected appearance of the government agency's account drew amused reactions from users, with comments such as "Wait, teacher?" and "Why is a government agency here?"
"Cham Gyoyuk" follows a fictional agency called the Teachers' Rights Protection Bureau, established to defend teachers' authority and the education system in South Korea against students, parents and others who repeatedly cross the line.
According to Netflix's official Top 10 tracker Tudum, "Cham Gyoyuk" recorded 6.4 million views — defined as total watch time divided by runtime — for the week of June 1–7, making it No. 1 in the non-English TV category.
The series ranked in the top 10 in 48 countries, including South Korea, the Philippines, Egypt, Turkey, Singapore and Argentina.
Forbes called the show "tightly scripted and highly entertaining, drawing viewers into deep immersion" and said it "keeps you wondering what comes next." The business magazine also named it one of the best drama series released so far this year.
