First 100 Dongjak-gu residents to sign up between June 4 and June 18 can access a trial diving program at 80% off the regular price
Dongjak-gu (district mayor Park Il-ha) is expanding support for residents to experience professional underwater sports more safely and at lower cost through a new partnership with a specialized aquatic facility.
The district signed an MOU with MS Diving Pool (459 Gyeongin-ro, Sosa-gu, Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province) on April 23.
Under the agreement, Dongjak-gu residents can access structured education programs run by professional instructors at discounted rates.
The supported disciplines are freediving and scuba diving. MS Diving Pool offers level-based curricula for everyone from beginners to those seeking certification.
Residents receive a 20% discount on tuition at every level and can develop proper underwater technique and emergency response skills through safety training and hands-on practice.
To enroll, search for "MS Diving Pool" on Naver Smart Store, then enter "MOU 기관 예약" in the search bar at the top right of the page to complete the booking.
From June 4 through June 18, the first 100 residents to sign up can try a trial diving program at 80% off the regular price — an opportunity expected to appeal particularly to those new to underwater sports.
For details on courses and enrollment, contact MS Diving Pool at 032-710-5746 or the Dongjak-gu Office Sports Policy Division at 02-820-9438.
"Freediving and scuba diving are attractive sports that not only build physical fitness but also offer a uniquely different leisure experience," district mayor Park said. "We will continue working to promote residents' health and enrich their leisure activities through a variety of community sports programs and facility partnerships."
