Event set for 5 p.m. Tuesday at Songpa-gu Office auditorium, focusing on 2028 college entrance reform

Songpa-gu in Seoul announced Thursday it will host its second college admissions seminar of 2027 targeting middle school students.

The free event will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the main auditorium of the Songpa-gu Office. The seminar will focus on the revised college entrance system for the 2028 academic year, which affects students currently in middle school.

The session will be led by Jung Je-won, a teacher at Sungui Girls' High School widely recognized as a college admissions expert. Jung is a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's college guidance support team and serves as an admissions consultant for several major universities, including Kangnam University, Konkuk University, Sahmyook Health University, Sungshin Women's University and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. His lecture will cover three topics: an in-depth analysis of the 2028 college entrance reform; how the system changes affect students' advantages, disadvantages and high school choices; and strategies for successful career planning.

Songpa-gu Mayor Seo Gang-seok said the seminar was organized for middle schoolers and their parents grappling with a rapidly shifting admissions landscape. "We will continue to provide substantive, tailored information — from high school selection to college entrance — so that students can wisely plan their high school years and ultimately achieve their dream of getting into the university of their choice," he said.
