Fifth international school to boost education demand in Jeju; complex sits five minutes from education city, offers premium residential facilities
As construction of the fifth international school within Jeju English Education City gets underway, rising education demand is drawing fresh attention to nearby residential developments — with Hanwha Forena Jeju EduCity, a complex being marketed by Hanwha Construction, emerging as a prime example.
According to the Jeju Free International City Development Center (JDC), Fulton Science Academy Atherton (FSAA) held a groundbreaking ceremony at Jeju Shinhwa World on April 28. FSAA is the first global campus of Fulton Science Academy (FSA), a private school based in Atlanta, Georgia.
FSAA is set to operate as a STEM-focused private school specializing in science and engineering. The school plans to hold an online information session in the third quarter of this year, an official enrollment briefing in August 2027, and aims to open in August 2028.
Hanwha Forena Jeju EduCity is located in Boseong-ri, Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo, Jeju. The complex spans 29 buildings of five above-ground floors over one below-ground floor, with exclusive use areas ranging from 84 to 210 square meters across 503 units. Construction is complete and move-in is available immediately.
The complex sits a five-minute drive from Jeju English Education City and operates a shuttle bus to support school commutes and daily travel. The education city currently hosts four international schools — SJA Jeju, NLCS Jeju, BHA and KIS Jeju — with a student enrollment rate of 83.2 percent for the 2024–2025 academic year and an overseas university placement rate exceeding 90 percent as of 2024.
The complex also offers strong lifestyle convenience and residential comfort. Community facilities include a golf training center, fitness center, group exercise room, guesthouse, reading room and study rooms.
Particularly notable is an indoor lounge featuring TrackMan, a golf analysis system used on the PGA Tour — the first such installation in a domestic apartment complex. TrackMan uses radar and high-speed cameras to analyze carry distance, ball trajectory, spin rate, swing path and club head speed.
"Since FSAA broke ground in earnest, inquiries about Hanwha Forena Jeju EduCity have been on the rise," said Jo Seong-jun, sales director at Hanwha Construction.
