The Department of Baking and Pastry Arts at Keimyung College swept the pastry category of the 2026 Korea International Culinary Competition, held as part of the 27th Korea Food Tourism Expo, with all 31 student participants winning awards. The competition ran June 6-7 at the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul. The department's top honor was the grand prize, presented by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

The event was hosted and organized by the Korea Food Tourism Association and the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

Drawing on skills developed through regular coursework and extracurricular programs, the students claimed 27 gold awards and four silver awards — a clean sweep for the department.

Kim Seo-gyeong, who entered the butter cake exhibition category, earned a gold award after judges praised the precision, technical skill and overall harmony of her work.

Jeong Yang-sik, head of the baking and pastry department, said the program would continue working to develop skilled graduates who meet the practical demands of the industry.
